The Christmas getaway or how to escape your Christmas!

Many of us like nothing better than Christmas at home. But how many of us, come the end of the day in question, feet submerged in steaming hot bowls of water, have cried “Never again! Next year, we’re going away for Christmas!” to bewildered over indulged expressions? Most of us?

To many people the mere lightest of utterances involving the word ‘Christmas’ and the sentence “So, what are you doing for it?” and “Thought it would be a laugh if we were to come over and join you this year?” will leave them in a quivering mess! If you are one of these people, Christmas doesn’t have to be this way. There is a light at the end of the Yuletide tunnel and that is… to get away for Christmas!

Why hadn’t you thought of it before? No sausages to wrap in bacon, no turkey to baste, no scurrying around at Aunt Ada’s and Uncle Eric’s every demand for half hourly cups of weak tea to pork and pickle pies and no more putting on of a brave face! Just imagine; a Christmas day dinner and no effort needed. Your lovely roast turkey lunch with all the trimmings brought to you piping hot by a friendly waitress with a big warm smile. Afterwards, why not take a gentle stroll whilst you think about what you would be doing if you were stopping at home ‘doing’ Christmas as per usual. One thing is for sure, you’ll be glad you’re here because what it would be is not pretty and loads of it, of course I refer to the good old traditional Christmas Day washing up marathon. Instead of watching reruns on the telly to a background of Aunt Ada’s and Uncle Eric’s synchronized snoring you could be enjoying an evening of hotel entertainment dolled up to the nines dancing the night away.
